26.04.2024
Hello all,
Today was another interim online meeting of the EAA Urban Archaeology.
There were two main subjects, namely organising a workshop on synthesising research within Urban Archaeology and the upcoming book.
Workshop urban archaeology
As you know, together we have planned to set up a synthesising research project of archaeology in European cities. To do this, we would first like to get together with a smaller group to exchange views on this.
We plan to do so on Wednesday 28 August in Rome. Anyone who is there then is welcome to join this. In addition, we want to see if we can also facilitate an online connection so that those who are not in Rome still can participate. An agenda for this meeting will follow.
Furthermore, we would like to have dinner somewhere in Rome on Tuesday evening 27 August for anyone who wants to. Just let us know in due course if you would like to join as well.
Book Urban Habitat
Work on the book is still in progress. The authors still have a few months to finish their article. We want to meet with the editors at the end of May to discuss progress.
Vienne workshop
In early April, a workshop took place in Vienne focusing mainly on the possibilities and impossibilities of geophysical research in the urban environment. It is nice to see that many developments are taking place in this field, including around gravity. Much of the research is still experimental and it will also take some time before they are all properly usable.
The next online meeting will take place on Monday 27 May from 15.00-16.00 CET. We hope to see you again then!
All the best,
Jeroen
